The Course

This course offers a clear, evidence-based look at how menopause impacts genitourinary and pelvic health — but without the usual clinical distance or awkward silence. We dig into what’s really happening in the urinary tract, vagina, vulva, and pelvic floor, using expert-led written and video content that’s designed to be both informative and easy to follow.

And let’s be honest: for something that affects the majority of menopausal women, issues like bladder changes, vaginal dryness, discomfort, or pelvic floor problems are still surrounded by stigma, confusion, or just… silence. That lack of conversation leaves too many people unsure of what’s normal, what’s treatable, and where to turn.

This course aims to change that. It combines medical expertise with practical, real-world strategies to help you understand symptoms, manage them effectively, and feel more in control of your body. Whether you’re a patient, doctor, or allied health professional, it’s about replacing taboo with clarity — and giving this stage of life the open, informed discussion it deserves.

What you will learn

Module One covers genitourinary tract anatomy, key terminology, and understanding what’s “normal” for you. It also explains the hormonal changes of perimenopause and menopause and how these shifts affect the urinary tract, vagina, and vulva.

Module Two, led by specialist pelvic health physiotherapist Clare Bourne, explores pelvic health during menopause, including pelvic floor anatomy and how menopause and ageing influence tissue health and function. It also discusses prolapse, urinary incontinence, and vaginismus.

Module Three offers a deep dive into available treatments, including vaginal moisturisers, vaginal oestrogens, and other evidence-based options to support comfort, function, and long-term pelvic health.
